The poster and teaser for Mammootty’s upcoming film, Dominic and The Ladies’ Purse, have fans buzzing with excitement for its release. This movie is a big deal as it’s Gautham Vasudev Menon’s first time directing in Malayalam, and it’s got the megastar’s support. Recently, cast member Gokul Suresh opened up about the film’s genre and his experience working alongside such legendary actors.
While chatting with the media at Kalidas Jayaram’s wedding, Gokul expressed how thrilled he is to be part of Dominic and The Ladies’ Purse and highlighted the significance of his role.
Gokul Suresh shares what genre Dominic and The Ladies’ Purse falls into.
The actor mentioned he never expected to have such a big role in the teaser, where Mammootty shows his character how to handle a bunch of goons, or in the film itself, where his character's screentime was increased.
“It was an incredible experience working with a 'veteran youngster' like Mammootty uncle. I learned so much just by being around him, almost like I was in a university for 25 days,” he shared. “At first, my character was only in the first half, but that changed.”
Talking more about the movie, Gokul revealed it will include elements from comedy mysteries like The Pink Panther. This backs up earlier rumors that Mammootty would be playing a private investigator, alongside Lena, Vineeth, Siddique, and Viji Venkatesh in supporting roles.
Superstars really pour their heart and soul into every film: Gokul Suresh.
Gokul, who was recently seen in the hit film Gaganachari, shared his thoughts on the harsh criticism that superstar movies often face. “I really hope every film I work on gives me a chance to shine,” he mentioned. “Whenever I watch a movie, even those featuring veteran actors, and then hear the negative feedback they get, it really bums me out. Our senior actors pour their heart and soul into every project; nobody intentionally makes a bad film. I think a lot of it comes down to the high expectations from the audience that drive these reactions.”
