Even though fans haven't gotten over actor Jayam Ravi’s first-look avatar from his upcoming film Genie, the makers have now dropped the second look from the film. The second-look poster features Jayam Ravi along with his leading ladies – Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Wamiqa Gabbi.  

Dressed in an all-white attire, Wamiqa Gabbi appears to be playing the role of a fairy or angel perhaps. On the other side, Kalyani Priyadarshan is adorned with gold ornaments and looks ethereal as she seems to be playing the role of a princess. Krithi, on the other hand, looks elegant in a simple attire, and appears to be playing a ‘regular human’ in the film. The poster also features actress Devayani in a saree, smiling and looking sideways. The poster also features singer-actor Aajeedh Khalique on top of the famous flying mat from the legendary folktale of Arabian Nights. There is also a dance couple featured in the same poster. Jayam Ravi, who stands tall amid all the characters, is almost unrecognisable in his new avatar. A purple and gold coloured magical sphere can also be seen behind him.  

Overall, the new poster looks other-worldly, and definitely screams of an extravagant fantasy drama. The makers have succeeded in creating an Arabian Nights nostalgia with the poster.

Although the makers are tight-lipped about the story behind the film, the new posters hint that the film is set to revolve around the ‘Genie’ character played by Jayam Ravi. This poster is indeed a visual treat, and we cannot be more excited about watching our Ponniyin Selvan star turn into a Genie on the big screens soon! 

“Here is the Second look of #Genie. Happy to be working with the stellar artists. Get ready to Witness the magical world (sic)”, Jayam Ravi wrote on his X page, while sharing the new vibrant poster.  

Genie upcoming fantasy drama

Directed by Arjunan, the upcoming fantasy drama also stars Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead. The new film, which is heavy on VFX, had received help from PhantomFX to do the VFX and CGI works for the film. For the unversed, PhantomFX had previously worked with Sivakarthikeyan-starrer sci-fi comedy Ayalaan for the CGI works.  

 The music for the film is scored by A R Rahman. The cinematography for the film is handled by Mahesh Muthuswami, while the editing is by Pradeep E Ragav.
