Choi Woo-Shik is one of the K-Drama actors who keeps audiences intrigued regarding his forthcoming choices. This enigmatic quality contributes to his appeal, and it persists with his latest project, Melo Movie. In this Netflix series, he will once again navigate a will-he-won't-he relationship, and, as anticipated, the romance evokes a comforting and delightful sensation. The creators have released a teaser for this production, and here are all the details it reveals.

Mu-bee's dream to be a filmmaker

Park Bo-young, portraying Kim Mu-bee in Melo Movie, has ambitions of becoming a filmmaker. During an encounter with Choi Woo-shik's character, Go Gyeom, at a bus stop, they engage in a conversation about her desire to enter the film industry. He inquires about the type of film she hopes to create, to which she replies, "An incredible melo movie (melodrama)." Upon hearing this, he unexpectedly spits out the corn they had been eating.

Flashback to the couple's first meeting

Gyeom encountered Mu-bee during their time at university. He was captivated by her name and inquired about its origin. In response, she explained that she had not chosen it herself. At that moment, Gyeom expressed his enthusiasm for films, noting that her name closely resembled something he cherished. Upon hearing this, she requested that he refrain from speaking to her. Their paths crossed once more when he was cast as a supporting character in a scene, and she was part of the production crew.

The confession and downhill

After Gyeom revealed his feelings to Mu-bee, she chose to disregard him, despite the tenderness he felt towards her, as reflected in his gaze. He continued to pursue her, and with a kiss, they officially entered into a romantic relationship. However, this connection would later evolve into animosity. Unintentionally, he distanced himself from her, during which time he achieved success as a film critic. When fate brings them together again, the former lovers find themselves at odds, primarily due to their opposing positions within the entertainment industry.

The narrative, characterized by the classic will-he-won't-he dynamic, exemplifies the quintessential Woo-shik behaviour often seen in K-Dramas, with the romance serving as a compelling draw. "Melo Movie" is set to be released on Valentine's Day and will be available on Netflix.
