Kannada OTT platform Namma Flix is setting up its content library with exclusive and non-exclusive titles. Only days after actor Adityaa’s thriller Munduvareda Adhyaya became available on the streamer, Vijay Prakash, CEO of Namma Flix tells us that Golden Star Ganesh’s Triple Riding is also being added. The Mahesh Gowda directed 2022 romantic drama will be available on Namma Flix from June 14. The film is currently also on Amazon Prime Video and comes to Namma Flix under a non-exclusive deal.

Triple Riding is one of four films Ganesh had in theatres since the pandemic; one that did not fare well at the box office. The film was widely panned for its outdated comedy and uninspired writing, falling back on a standard trope of having the hero fall in love not once, but thrice, and then ending up with one of them.

In Triple Riding, Ganesh gets Megha Shetty, Aditi Prabhudeva and Rachana Inder, but the film does not offer anything novel in terms of story-telling or execution. It stars with Ganesh pretending to be a doctor (managing his treatment protocols with Google), and falling in love with the resident surgeon of the hospital he’s working at. When they elope, he reveals his true identity and the reason he decided to ‘fall in love’ with her.

Since Triple Riding, the actor has had only one other release, Baanadariyalli, and announced one other project – Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi – with director Srinivasa Raju. For quite a while, audiences have been pointing out that Ganesh has been stuck in a rut, doing the same old stuff in all his films. A lot of the discourse on social media about the Golden Star has been about the need for him to reinvent himself and do fresh films, as filmmakers always tend to lean on the actor’s strengths – emotional and romantic drama and comedy.

Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi is also said to be a romantic drama, but since it is from the director who made the Dandupalya movies, one can expect something different after all.
