Director Shankar just dropped a bombshell by spending ₹75 crore to shoot four songs for his new movie Game Changer, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. People online are scratching their heads, wondering why so much cash was needed for just a few songs, especially since Shankar is known for going all out in this area. To clear things up, the film’s music label, Saregama, shared a detailed breakdown of the expenses.

What’s the deal with Game Changer songs costing ₹75 crore?

Game Changer includes four tracks in the movie: Jaragandi, Raa Macha Macha, Naanaa Hyraanaa, and Dhop. The team shared that Jaragandi, which Prabhu Deva choreographed, had a whopping 600 dancers involved. They filmed it over 13 days on a huge 70-foot village set, and the costumes were made from eco-friendly jute.

Raa Macha Macha, choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, showcased 1000 dancers and serves as a tribute to folk dance while celebrating India's vibrant cultural diversity. Naanaa Hyraanaa is notable for being the first Indian song filmed with an infrared camera, and it was shot in New Zealand. Lastly, Dhop, choreographed by Jani Master, featured 100 Russian dancers and wrapped up in just 8 days.

The internet was buzzing with mixed feelings about the huge budget, but Shankar's fans were totally on board. One Reddit user pointed out, “Shankar has always gone all out with his music videos. Remember how Aishwarya danced around the seven wonders in Jeans? That was epic for just one song!”

On the flip side, another commenter said, “You could make an entire movie with 75 crores! What a waste of cash, and it’s not even good—everything about it is just bad.” Some folks on X (formerly Twitter) thought it was ‘insane’ to drop so much on just four songs, while others labeled it an ‘unnecessary expense.’

Game Changer, featuring Anjali, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Srikanth, Prakash Raj, and Sunil, is set to hit theaters on January 10.
