Galveston movie plot overview
The narrative introduces Roy (Ben Foster), a cold-blooded assassin, who is accustomed to the thrills of the killings and the satisfaction of a job well done, finds his life taking an unexpected turn. A recent diagnosis of a type of life-threatening cancer that has cast a shadow over his future. His life gets more intense when his ruthless boss senses his situation and makes a sinister plot to remove him from the world.
This betrayal soon makes Roy desperate, and returns to his hometown, Galveston, a place where he could take shelter and scheme his revenge. Fuelled by anger and a desire for justice, Roy embarks on a dangerous journey to confront his past and seek retribution against those who have wronged him.
Ben Foster’s experience working in Galveston movie
Back in 2018, lead actor Ben Foster talked to Film School Rejects news portal, and shared that he loves to work on characters like Roy. When he gets to know about his character’s characteristics that includes toxic masculinity, he instantly gets thrilled. He further shared that this type of character excites him due to the tough environment, the grizzled, hard, violent, and intense things about them.
“The fact there was something that crippled inside him felt interesting within this genre. I thought we could maybe explore some of those ideas. I don’t know how successful we were, but that’s what drew me to it”, Ben Foster stated.
