Kushee Ravi made her cinematic debut in 2016 with The Great Story of Sodabuddi, but she truly gained recognition four years later when her film Dia emerged as one of the most discussed films of 2020, generating significant buzz following its release on OTT platforms. The film premiered in theaters just before the global lockdown due to the pandemic and received considerable affection and support from viewers on streaming services. Since then, Kushee has been referred to as Dia-fame Kushee, a title she appreciates but feels it is time to move beyond. In pursuit of this goal, Kushee has been exploring various projects, including films, short films, and music videos, with her latest endeavor being a Kannada web series.

Ayyana Mane's Kushee Ravi: I wanted to break the stereotype that established actors won't do web series

Kushee stars as the lead in Zee5's inaugural Kannada original web series, Ayyana Mane, which is penned and directed by Ramesh Indira, known for Premier Padmini. The series is set to premiere on April 25, 2025. She expresses her appreciation for the innovative concept, which she believes will resonate with viewers. In the Kannada film industry, where achieving success in films is often seen as the pinnacle for artists, it is uncommon for television actors to transition to cinema.

However, Kushee and many of her co-stars from Ayyana Mane have made this shift. She reflects on the trend where, unlike the Kannada industry, prominent actors in other languages are increasingly gravitating towards the OTT platform. She notes that in the realm of short films, music videos, or web series, newcomers typically dominate, failing to capture audience interest, a contrast to the situations in Bollywood, Kollywood, or Tollywood.

While major Kannada stars have yet to be approached for series, she believes that once one takes the leap into the OTT space, it will inspire others to follow suit. Kushee aims to challenge the stereotype that film actors shy away from web series, as she shared with Power TV News. In Ayyana Mane, she portrays Jaji, a newly married woman who arrives at her husband's ancestral home, facing the ominous legacy of a family curse that has claimed the lives of three daughters-in-law. Will Jaji be the next victim, or can she uncover the truth behind the curse?

Ayyana Mane has been produced by Shruti Naidu and has 6 episodes of 18-20 minutes each. The show will stream in Kannada and with Hindi audio too.
