List of Malayalam anthologies

Kerala Café (YouTube)

A collection of stories that explore various facets of life while subtly tying them all together. When the characters in the separate stories travel through Kerala Cafe, a cafeteria at a railway station, they merge, forming a visual treat. Ten distinct stories from various settings in Kerala are featured in the project, offering plenty of opportunity for a wide range of filmmaking aesthetics.

Aanum Pennum (iStream)

This anthology film features three short stories- Savithri, Rachiyamma, and Rani. With each segment telling a story of passion, betrayal, and love against the backdrop of three different timelines, it explores relationships between men and women. Great acting and storytelling were praised by the audience, especially in the third short story, Rani, starring Darshana Rajendran and Roshan Mathew.

Freedom Fight (Sony LIV)

Freedom Fight features a girl balancing social expectations, a housewife thrust into crisis by a routine gone awry, a maid caught between her employer couple's priorities, a sewage worker who decides to question an atrocity, and women workers denied bathroom breaks. This anthology effectively tells five stories about individuals of various ages, genders, and classes who are united by their quest for freedom.

5 Sundarikal (YouTube)

Sethulakshmi, the first movie in this anthology, tells the tale of a young girl whose life takes a terrible turn when a classmate suggests that they take a picture of themselves. Esha, the next movie, opens with such intensity that it keeps us clenched to the narrative. The story of an interfaith married couple is told in Aashiq Abu's Gowri. The climax of Kullante Bharya is sure to make viewers teary-eyed. Aami, the last movie, tells the story of a man who has changed for the better after marrying a woman who has total faith in him.
