Dhanush is juggling films in various languages and has also decided to dive into directing, working on two projects at once. His movie Nilavu Enmel Enadi Kobam is set to hit theaters in February, and he just dropped the first look for his third directorial venture, Idly Kadai, on Wednesday, January 1.

The first look of Idly Kadai has just been revealed

The movie stars Dhanush in the main role, alongside Nithya Menen, Samuthirakani, and more. The initial posters show Dhanush next to the seasoned actor Raj Kiran.

Dhanush's first directorial venture, Pa Paandi, had Raj Kiran in the lead, but they never actually shared the screen. In contrast, Idly Kadai is set to feature both actors together in some scenes.

One of the posters shows Dhanush dressed in a white shirt and dhoti, carrying groceries and a tiffin carrier, while another has him standing next to Raj Kiran. These posters suggest that the film takes place in a village setting.

The release date for Idly Kadai

Idly Kadai is gearing up for its big screen debut on April 10, 2025. This family drama features music by GV Prakash and is produced by Dawn Pictures in collaboration with Wunderbar Pictures. The technical team includes Kiran Koushik as the cinematographer and Prasanna GK in charge of editing.

On another note, this marks Dhanush’s fourth directorial venture. After the releases of the romantic drama Pa Pandi and the gangster thriller Raayan, he’s looking forward to the upcoming romantic film Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, which is set to hit theaters on February 7, followed by Idly Kadai on April 10.

Dhanush is also busy with other projects, including Kubera with director Sekhar Kammula, an Ilaiyaraaja biopic directed by Arun Matheswaran, and a Hindi film titled Tere Ishq Mein with Aanand L Rai.
