Ishaan Khatter presents himself as Aviraaj Singh, the Maharaja of Morpur. This royal figure is characterized as a 'polo-playing, pleasure-seeking, party prince, destined to inherit the throne of Morpur.' He encounters Sophia Shekhar, the CEO of Patel Group, who is portrayed as 'high-functioning, tightly wound, and exceptionally skilled in her field.' Their chemistry is immediate, igniting a connection between them. However, the question arises: can this 'royal' individual defy his family's expectations to pursue the woman he loves? Or is there more beneath the surface? Here is the teaser...

Aviraaj Singh, the privileged Maharaj

Aviraaj Singh acknowledges his privilege when confronted by Sophia. Nevertheless, he responds with the terms 'bewakoof and phenku.'

A love story with a time limit?

Although this narrative centres on a love story, it is constrained by a temporal limitation that both individuals likely recognize. Consequently, despite her efforts, he distances himself from her as if she were nonexistent in his life, feeling a sense of shame in her presence.

The reality is unveiled. She inquires whether he would opt for the simpler path, to which he responds that he is merely a Maharaja in name, unable to act freely. His complicated family background serves as the underlying reason for this assertion. Zeenat Aman's remarks elucidate the context of his statement. When questioned about the roles of his family members, Aman replies, "Darling, we are Modhpurs! We do nothing; we simply exist." This remark clearly reflects the wealth accumulated without any effort.

It is evident that they rely on Sophia significantly more than they are willing to acknowledge. Given that she also depends on them, this creates a relationship rooted in capitalism. Naturally, one can anticipate both the enchanting aspects of royal life and the challenges that come with it.

Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, The Royals also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Vihaan Samat, Chunky Pandey, Dino Morea, and Milind Soman in key roles.
