On February 3rd, Netflix threw a big event to unveil their awesome lineup of upcoming movies and web series. One highlight is Akka, featuring the amazing Radhika Apte and Keerthy Suresh. They shared the first look on social media, and trust me, you don’t want to miss it. This new web series comes from Yash Raj Films’ streaming division, YRF Entertainment. Akka's initial preview has been released

The first look video kicks off with the fierce Keerthy Suresh striding into a room packed with her girl gang. Her rugged and authentic vibe adds a layer of mystery to the series. Next, we see Radhika Apte, lounging in a large chair in her office. The video teases us with shots of gold bars, guns, and some high-stakes action. According to Netflix, the story unfolds in the 1980s matriarchal society of the fictional city of Pernuru in South India.

The video declares, "This year power has a new name, Akka." The series dives into the lives of gangster queens whose reign is put to the test when an outsider introduces a hidden threat, throwing their powerful sisterhood into a whirlwind of violence and survival. It promises a showdown between Keerthy and Radhika as they vie for control. Sounds pretty intriguing, right? Check out the first look video of Akka!

Keerthy Suresh just made her Bollywood debut in Baby John with Varun Dhawan and was spotted at an event in Mumbai. She expressed her gratitude to YRF for bringing this series to life, saying, "Akka is a whole new world that you haven't seen before. It's all about strong women coming together." Meanwhile, Radhika couldn't make it to the event because she recently welcomed her first child.

They played a video of Radhika during the event, where she mentioned, "Akka showcases fierce and powerful women at its core. Huge thanks to my partners-in-crime, Keerthy and our director Dharmaraj. We had an amazing time shooting this show." Radhika also referred to Akka as a 'game changer.'

The series is directed by newcomer Dharmaraj Shetty and is set to drop on Netflix later this year, though the exact release date is still under wraps.
