Soori, renowned for his impressive performances in films such as the Viduthalai duology, Kottukaali, and Garudan, is preparing to collaborate with director Prasant Pandiyaraj on a project entitled Maamaan. The initial look of the film was unveiled on social media on Friday, January 17.

Maaman first look starring Soori is out now

Actor-comedian Soori, who has recently transitioned to leading roles, is set to star in an upcoming Tamil film titled Maaman. The film is directed by Prasant Pandiyaraj, known for his critically acclaimed series Vilangu.

Aishwarya Lekshmi will portray the female lead, while composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, recognized for his work in Hridayam, will provide the musical score. The first look of Maaman was unveiled on social media on Friday.

The promotional material includes two posters featuring Soori. One poster depicts Soori in what appears to be a confrontation, while the other captures a traditional ear-piercing ceremony involving a young boy seated on his uncle's lap. The cast of Maaman also includes Rajkiran, Geetha Kailasam, Swasika, and Bala Saravanan, among others.

Maaman is produced by Kumar Karupannan under the Lark Studios banner, which also financed Soori’s recent film Garudan. The film is anticipated to be a family drama and is expected to be released in the summer of 2025.

Where to watch Prashanth Pandiyaraj Vilangu on OTT?

Prasant made his acting debut in the 2017 film Bruce Lee, which featured GV Prakash Kumar. However, he gained significant recognition through the crime thriller web series Vilangu, where Vemal played the lead role. This series is accessible for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium.

Released in 2022, Vilangu boasts a diverse cast, including Ineya, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, and RNR Manohar, among others. The series comprises seven episodes and follows a sub-inspector working in the outskirts of Trichy. While dealing with his own personal challenges, he struggles to solve a series of crimes that appear to be interconnected. A second season of the series has been confirmed.
