The production of Pennu Case, featuring Nikhila Vimal, has officially begun in Mysore. This film, which marks the directorial debut of Febin Sidharth, also includes performances by Hakim Shajahan, Aju Varghese, and Ramesh Pisharody. The creators of Pennu Case shared the news of the shooting's initiation through an engaging image.

The photo shared on Instagram by the team of Pennu Case features the lead actress of Nikhila Vimal, while the rest of the people in the picture have covered their faces with handkerchiefs. 

Pennu translates to girl or young woman in Malayalam, and the term Pennu Case typically pertains to incidents involving harassment or assault against women. When these cases attract media attention, it is common for the accused individuals to conceal their faces while being escorted by law enforcement. The title and the accompanying image suggest that the narrative may center on a similar occurrence.

Mukesh R Mehta, Rajesh Krishna, and CV Sarathi are collaborating to produce the film under the banners of E4 Experiments and London Talkies. The co-producer is Aswathi Naduthodi from VU Talkies, with cinematography handled by Shinoz. The script has been crafted by Reshmi Radhakrishnan and Febin Sidharth, while the dialogues are the work of Jyothish M, Sunu V, and Ganesh Malayath. Ankit Menon is responsible for the music, and the editing is managed by Sarin Ramakrishnan, with Arshad Nakkoth serving as the art director. Asif Kuttipuram holds the position of chief associate director. The promotional activities, make-up, and costumes are overseen by Vipin Kumar, Bibin Teja, and Ashwathy Jayakumar, respectively.

Nikhila Vimal was last seen in Get-Set Baby, where she starred alongside Unni Mukundan, who portrayed an IVF specialist. However, Vinay Govind's film, which premiered on February 21, 2025, has received a range of reviews. Additionally, Nikhila appeared in Oru Jaathi Jathakam, featuring Vineeth Sreenivasan. This film, directed by M Mohanan, who is known for his previous work on Aravindante Athidhikal, was released in January 2025.
