When it was announced that the movie would be released in India, it was reported that Zee Studios had purchased the distribution rights for the film. The tweet where ANI shared the news, crediting their sources, read, "Pakistani film The Legend of Maula Jatt is not being permitted in cinema theatres in India. It is learnt that the decision has been taken as Indian films have not been permitted in Pakistan since 2019: Sources." This implies that it is highly unlikely that the Pakistani film will be seen in Indian theatres.

Meanwhile, when announcing the India release of their 2022 successful film starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, the studio had written, “Two years on, The Legend of Maula Jatt is still unstoppable! Witness the epic saga on the big screen in India from 2nd October 2024."

MNS Opposes The Legend of Maula Jatt India Release

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) last week strongly opposed the decision to allow the film to release in India. Party leaders stated that they would not permit the film to be screened in the country. The Party President of the MNS Cinema Wing, Ameya Khopkar, even mentioned that they will not entertain any Pakistani films or actors in India. They are firm on this stance and plan to advise other states to stop the release of The Legend of Maula Jatt as well. Read on to know more about this development.

Speaking to ANI, Ameya Khopkar declared that they will not allow the release of the film or the entry of any Pakistani actors into the country. They have also urged people in other states to oppose the release of The Legend of Maula Jatt as well. "This movie will not be released. Not just this movie, we will not entertain any Pakistani film or actors in India... If this happens, there will be a strong agitation," Khopkar said.
