Kannada director Shashank, known for his recent film Kousalya Supraja Rama featuring Darling Krishna, has collaborated once again with the actor for a new project titled Brat, which was officially announced on March 28. It has come to light that Shashank and Krishna have been actively working on this film, which is approximately 80% complete. They expressed their intention to finalize the project soon and release it to audiences at the earliest opportunity.
Shashank, who previously tackled male chauvinism in Kousalya Supraja Rama, is now taking a more action-oriented approach with his new film, Brat. In this project, Krishna portrays Christy, a character that embodies the essence of the title. The main storyline focuses on the conflict between Christy and his father, portrayed by Achyuth Kumar, as well as Christy's transformative journey.
During the title launch, Krishna expressed that the most significant challenge in portraying Christy was the stark contrast between the character and his own personality. The film also features Manisha Kandkur, known for her role in Bhale Unnade, as the female lead. Manisha is the daughter of producer Manjunath Kandkur, who is financing the film through his production company, Dolphin Entertainment.

The actress expressed, "Shashank sir has not only been instrumental in introducing talents like Yash, Radhika Pandit, and Ajai Rao, but he also creates strong female characters in his films, making it an honor to be launched by him." The director further stated that the film targets today's youth, aiming to resonate with individuals aged 20 to 30 by addressing the challenges they encounter and offering insights on how to navigate them. Ramesh Indira and Dragon Manju will portray the primary antagonists.
Shashank emphasized that "Brat" is a project he has crafted with the intention of avoiding repetition in his work. Each film he creates belongs to a distinct genre, and this one is no exception. The music is composed by Arjun Janya, while Abhilash Kalathi is responsible for the cinematography. For the title launch, the filmmaker commissioned a special song from rapper Rahul Ditto. The film is set to be released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
