Farhan Akhtar lauds Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s commitment towards Animal, here’s what he thinks about Ranbir Kapoor's film

Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar recently reacted to Ranbir Kapoor starrer film Animal. In a recent interaction, when he was asked his views on the film which is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, he revealed that he commends the director for making a film like Animal, however, he also mentioned that he would never recommend anyone to watch the film. Will Farhan Akhtar recommend someone to watch Animal?

In an interview with Faye D’Souza, when asked what is his point of view for the film, Farhan Akhtar said that the film did not work for him. However, he mentioned that Ranbir Kapoor's performance in the film was 'really good' and also lauded the background score. He further said, "The other thing that I had to admit is I feel that Sandeep made the film that he set out to make, which in itself is commendable if you think about it."

"Because I’m sure along the way he must have met many people who asked him ‘What are you doing? Or ‘How can you do this?’ And he said ‘nahi mujhe yehi banani hai’. So that commitment of a director is something as much as someone may not like the film, you have to admire," he added. 

The actor however said that the film did not do much for him and also mentioned that he would never recommend someone to watch Animal. 

Farhan Akhtar says he would never produce a film like Animal

When asked if u would produce a film like Animal, Farhan said no as it does not resonate with him. "I do feel that the character is problematic," he said. He further added that as a filmmaker he cannot tell other people what to produce and what not. “Eventually the audience is going to decide what they want to see and what they don’t want to see,” he added. 

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri. The film was a box office success grossing over Rs. 900 crore worldwide.
