This film, directed by Sameer Vidwans, is being produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta. While Kartik is confirmed to play the male lead, it is reported that Sharvari will take on the role of the female lead. In a recent update, the production team is exploring the possibility of cameos from the cast of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in Kartik's film, with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Kalki Koechlin potentially reprising their original roles.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani achieved significant success upon its original release in 2013. Recently, the film was brought back to theatres, much to the delight of fans who were eager to experience their beloved movie once more. In this context, it has been reported that the creators of Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri are considering the inclusion of the YJHD cast in Kartik's upcoming film.

This film, being a romantic comedy and reminiscent of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, appears to be a logical continuation of that narrative. There are discussions about involving the original cast members for special appearances. Even if not all of them can participate, efforts will be made to include at least two. These cameo roles would serve as a charming tribute to the cherished film, as reported by a source to Mid-Day.

The source further emphasized that the integration of the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani stars into Kartik's film must be executed smoothly and organically, rather than feeling contrived. This aspect will be carefully considered during the writing phase.

Kartik Aaryan officially announced the film "Tu Teri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri" in December 2024. In a social media post, he shared a preview and stated, "Tumhara RAY aa raha hai RUMI Mummy ki khaayi hui kasam, yeh Mumma’s boy poori karke he rehta hai! I am thrilled to return to my favourite genre, Rom-com, with TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri… The most significant love story is set to hit cinemas in 2026 (sic)."
