Her best friend Janhvi (Preity Zinta) and Raj take care of Pooja, who is now in a coma. Upon recovery, Pooja falls for Raj, but he is now in love with Jahnvi.

Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega was a remake of 1997 Malayalam film 'Chandralekha'. The film starred Mohanlal and was inspired by the 1995 film 'While You Were Sleeping.' The film also starred Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo appearance. His character was an extension of his iconic character, Rahul, from Karan Johar's film 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.
