Enola Holmes 3 Begins Filming: Millie Bobby Brown Returns with New Director
4 days ago | 5 Views
Millie Bobby Brown has been making headlines for various reasons lately. From her role in Stranger Things to her personal life and her work as a producer, she’s always in the limelight. Fans are eagerly looking forward to Stranger Things Season 5, which is one of the most awaited shows worldwide this year. But there’s also a lot of buzz around her other projects, especially Enola Holmes 3. This film marks Millie’s first venture as a producer and is now gearing up for its third chapter, with fans anxious for updates on its production and release. After a period of silence, the creators have confirmed that filming is underway, and it’s being directed by Philip Barantini, known for his work on Adolescence.
Enola Holmes 3 Starts Filming
That’s right! Reports from last year indicated that Enola Holmes 3 would take a darker direction, similar to the progression seen in the Harry Potter films. The producers were said to be impressed with Philip Barantini’s vision for the movie. While not many were familiar with his style back then, his Netflix success with Adolescence has given audiences a taste of his creative flair. Now, he’s at the helm of Millie Bobby Brown’s third detective adventure.
According to Screen Daily, filming for the third installment of the Sherlock Holmes spin-off has kicked off in the UK. Enola Holmes 2 was filmed at Shepperton Studios, while the original 2020 movie was shot at Pinewood Studios. For the final weeks of production, the team is reportedly planning to shift filming to Malta. Although there are rumors about Henry Cavill, Louis Partridge, and Helena Bonham Carter returning, there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet.

Enola Holmes 3 Plot Summary
While the specifics of Enola Holmes 3 are still a mystery, sources indicate that Philip Barantini's darker take on the story impressed the studio. This third film is expected to shift the franchise's tone, similar to how Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban changed the vibe of the Harry Potter series. This creative direction is what led Netflix to bring Barantini on board to steer the franchise's future.
Last year, Deadline reported that Mary Parent, Ali Mendes, and Alex Garcia will be producing Enola Holmes 3 for Legendary Entertainment. Millie Bobby Brown and her sister Paige Brown will also produce through their company, PCMA Productions. Additionally, Jake Bongiovi and Isobel Richards have come on as executive producers. However, it's still unclear if Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Sherlock Holmes.
