“This story is so remarkable that it feels even more cinematic than typical films,” Hashmi stated, reflecting on the real-life operation that serves as the foundation of Ground Zero. The film draws inspiration from the covert military operation that ensued after the 2001 terrorist attacks on the Indian Parliament and the Akshardham Temple in Gujarat. Hashmi’s character, based on the actual officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, exemplifies the bravery, strategy, and sacrifices of BSF personnel who played a vital role in protecting the nation.

What resonated most with Hashmi was the realization that this operation had remained largely unknown to the public. “I was astonished to discover that this operation has not been covered in the media. I feel privileged to have the chance to bring this story to the forefront,” he remarked.
