Malayalam cinema was gearing up for a big showdown with different film factions taking sides in the clash between Antony Perumbavoor and G Suresh Kumar. However, the latest news brings some relief to fans, suggesting that a peaceful resolution is on the horizon. Antony Perumbavoor has retracted his harsh Facebook post aimed at G Suresh Kumar after discussions with BR Jacob, the president of the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce. BR Jacob also shared with Malayalam media that there’s no plan for a token strike on March 27, 2025, and that theater owners are eagerly anticipating the release of Empuraan featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal.
Empuraan producer Antony Perumbavoor has removed his Facebook post
Antony Perumbavoor has removed his Facebook post that took aim at Suresh Kumar's comments on the Empuraan budget and the trend of stars producing films. This comes just hours after news surfaced about the Kerala Film Chamber considering a token strike and pushing for new regulations. By Wednesday afternoon, the post had vanished from his account.

The Film Chamber had previously expressed their backing for the producers association and even reached out to Antony Perumbavoor with a notice. This notice warned of potential action if a certain Facebook post wasn’t taken down, according to reports from Malayalam media.
During a conversation with chamber president BR Jacob, Antony Perumbavoor promised that he would remove the post.
The film chamber president also mentioned that there are no plans for a strike in March, adding that "Empuraan is a film that theater owners are eagerly anticipating." Fans had shown their frustration over the concerns surrounding the Empuraan release, taking to social media to voice their protests.
Empuraan is out now
Earlier today, there were worries about the release of Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, after the film chamber announced that exhibitors and distributors need to get permission for films coming out after March 25. This created a potential issue for Prithviraj Sukumaran's direction since the sequel to Lucifer is set to hit theaters on March 27, 2025. However, with the film chamber president's reassurance, it looks like any obstacles for L2 Empuraan's release have been cleared.
