The much-anticipated Malayalam film Empuraan has experienced several days of uncertainty due to financial difficulties. However, following the departure of Lyca Productions and the new partnership with Gokulam Movies, which will handle the film's distribution, the release is now back on schedule. The first-day-first-show (FDFS) timings for Empuraan have been confirmed, with just 11 days remaining until its premiere.

In recent days, there has been growing apprehension regarding the release of Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal. The collaboration between Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas faced challenges, particularly due to the financial setbacks experienced by Lyca Productions in their recent projects. Following Lyca's withdrawal from the film, which was compensated by Aashirvad, uncertainties continued to surround Empuraan. However, the situation improved when Gokulam Gopalan of Gokulam Movies agreed to take on the distribution, much to the relief of the filmmakers, allowing them to reschedule the film's release for March 27.

The latest development indicates that the first-day first-show (FDFS) timings for Empuraan have been confirmed. The inaugural screening is set to commence at 6 AM IST. Prithviraj Sukumar announced on Twitter, "The first day, first show of #L2E #Empuraan will start at 6:00 AM IST on the 27th of March 2025. Screenings worldwide will begin at the corresponding times in their respective time zones." The film is slated for release in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.

What to expect from Empuraan?

Empuraan, the follow-up to the 2019 action thriller Lucifer, stars Mohanlal in the principal role. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film features an impressive ensemble cast, including Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Manju Warrier, among others.

Empuraan is set to be the latest addition to the collection of Malayalam action thrillers.
