In Season 4 of Emily in Paris, our beloved American travels to several new European locations, so it's high time that Emily Cooper updates her language-learning software. Viewers can now experience what it's like to be single in Paris through the new trailer and stills, with the two parts of the series set for release in August and September, respectively.

Travel and new destinations in Emily in Paris Season 4

Season 4 of Emily in Paris features Emily's jam-packed travel schedule, according to creator Darren Star, who spoke with Tudum. Through Emily's eyes, viewers will vicariously experience stunning new destinations, from the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome. In addition to a whole new language to learn, one can anticipate new characters, increased drama, and romance.

The fresh images show that winter has arrived in Emily's Paris, adding yet another new feature to the city. Andrew Fleming, the film's executive producer and director, remarks to Tudum that they are getting a different textural feel from Paris. Imagining Paris with a little more gloom, cosiness, people in coats, and dark clouds was a lot of fun, and it was perfect for scenes that are more dramatic in nature. In the winter, it becomes even more breathtaking.

It goes without saying that this adds a plethora of new cultural and sartorial dimensions. Costume designer Marylin Fitoussi tells Tudum that Emily is really coming into her own, asserting herself, and becoming much stronger with a style that is reinterpreting Parisian fashion rules. And of course, they wanted to have a wonderful time while taking as many risks as possible.

Season 3 recap

Lily Collins' character Emily Cooper learns at the very end of Season 3 that Gabriel, her on-and-off flirt partner, neighbour, and chef, is expecting a child with his on-and-off girlfriend, Emily's friend Camille Razat. Fortunately, leaked information about the upcoming fourth season of the sitcom reveals the identities of several new cast members.

In a video, Collins and the rest of the cast announced the premiere dates of the first five episodes (August 15) and the second half of the season (September 12).

The cast includes Lucien Laviscount as Alfie, Lucien Arnold as Julien, Bruno Gouery as Luc, William Abadie as Antoine Lambert, Lucian Arnold as Mindy Chen, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie Grateau, Bravo as Gabriel, Razat as Camille, and Collins as Emily Cooper. 

In the special date announcement video, the cast lists the following adjectives to describe the season: chaotic, heartbreaking, adventurous, fashionable, and revenge.

Emily's emotional turmoil

Emily is still in shock over what happened during Camille and Gabriel's ill-fated wedding. Even though she has strong affections for two men, Gabriel is ready to become a parent, and Alfie, Emily's ex-boyfriend from her time with the Viscount, has come to life with his worst concerns about her and Gabriel. Two major truths jeopardize Emily and Gabriel's shared pursuit of a Michelin star, despite their palpable chemistry. 

When asked about Gabriel and Emily in Season 3, Star clarified to Tudum that they are two characters who are betrayed by fate. Their love for each other is quite intense. Despite the obstacles they face, she gets the strangest feeling that their connection grows stronger with each passing season.

As the Agence Grateau team deals with personnel shake-ups, Sylvie (Leroy-Beaulieu) faces a difficult decision from her past that could affect her marriage. Mindy (Park) and the band had to be frugal because they didn't have enough money to prepare for Eurovision.

Emily's Italian adventure

At the Brazilian fan event Tudum: A Global Fan Event, Collins stated that her character will have an Italian adventure in Season 4, and she assured viewers that the upcoming season will be just as exciting as Seasons 1-3. This season, Emily's life takes some surprising turns, but her heart will always be with Paris. It would not be shocking to see her on vacation in Rome.
