Yuva Rajkumar’s second project, Ekka, is largely regarded as the film that will propel his nascent career in a positive direction, after his first, Yuva, did not succeed. Directed by Rohit Padaki, known for Rathnan Prapancha, and produced by PRK Productions and KRG Studios, Ekka is among the most eagerly awaited Kannada films of the year. Scheduled for release on June 6, 2025, production has almost reached completion.

The creators were planning to create a significant impact on Yuva’s birthday on April 23 by unveiling a teaser, but after the horrific terrorist attack in Kashmir, they chose to delay it by a day to honor the victims. The teaser released on April 24, which holds equal importance for the Rajkumar family due to it being the birth anniversary of the late Dr. Rajkumar, lasts for a total of 30 seconds, yet it contains ample content to excite fans about the visuals.

Jackie's tribute from Ekka teaser

Yuva’s appearance in the teaser, comprising the outfit, face paint, goggles, and whistle, echoes that of the late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar in his popular film Jackie. Yuva is being positioned as the successor to the Power Star legacy, and fans are appreciating this homage. The teaser, naturally, has raised expectations dramatically, with netizens now excited to discover what Rohit “has cooked”.

“Insane teaser”, “Psychological background music”, “brings to mind Jackie fight sequence”, “fantastic Jackie homage”, were among the frequently noted remarks for the teaser, with online users also praising the actor as Jr Power Star. Ekka, which is described as one individual’s expedition as he becomes involved in the sinister underbelly of Bengaluru, features Sampada Hulivana as the actor’s partner, while Sanjana Anand will also appear in a significant role.

Yuva Rajkumar, the younger offspring of Raghavendra Rajkumar, premiered with Yuva, which was directed by Santhosh Ananddram and produced by Hombale Films. Although the film served as an excellent showcase for the young actor to demonstrate his abilities, particularly in dance and combat, it fell short in terms of a strong plot and storyline.
