The third Eken Babu film, which was scheduled to be shot in Russia this year, was shelved. However, the Hoichoi series is on. OTTplay has reported that the eighth season of Eken Babu is on its way for the fans of the quirky Bengali detective. Anirban Chakrabarti, along with Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and Shomak Ghosh, will soon be back as Ekendra Sen, Bapi, and Promotho. Joydeep Mukherjee will direct the show. Based on the literary work of novelist Sujan Dasgupta, Padmanabha Dasgupta penned the script. Now we have some latest updates. 

Eken Babu Season 8 new updates

The shooting of the series will take place between September 5 and September 22. While most of the shooting will take place in Kolkata, there is an outdoor schedule in Odisha. Between September 16 and September 22, the team will shoot in Puri, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, and other areas.

OTTplay has the details of the new cast members. Biswajit Chakraborty will return as Khokamama. Besides, Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee will play an important character. The story is based on Nrityashilpir Mrityutodonte Ekenbabu. Rajanandini Paul will play the character of a Kathakali danseuse. Shankar Debnath and Roja Paromita Dey are also there in the show. 

It has been a while since we last saw Eken Babu – Tungkulung-e Eken – on screen. Season seven was dropped last year in December. Ekenbabu is arguably one of the most successful web shows in Bengal. It is the only show to have seven seasons. Ekenbabu started in 2018. Acclaimed actor Anirban shot to fame with this character. Initially, it was Shoumo Banerjee who played Bapi and Bubble, Promotho. Suhotro and Somak took over since the first film, The Eken.
