Suraj Venjaramoodu's film, ED Extra Decent, directed by Aamir Pallikkal, premiered in theaters in December 2024. Now, following a span of over three months, this Malayalam dark comedy is poised to launch on the Saina Play streaming platform. Suraj Venjaramoodu's ED Extra Decent On OTT

Suraj Venjaramoodu made his foray into film production with ED Extra Decent last year. The Malayalam movie premiered in theaters as a Christmas release on December 20, coinciding with Unni Mukundan’s Marco. However, Extra Decent has yet to secure a place in the OTT market. Recently, Saina Play announced that it will soon be streaming ED Extra Decent, although the specific release date has not been disclosed. It is anticipated that the film will be available exclusively in Malayalam on the platform.

ED Extra Decent cast and plot

Directed by Aamir Pallikkal, the film centers on a middle-aged man named Binu, who lives with his family. However, the discovery of unsettling secrets about his seemingly respectable family leads to unexpected developments.

Suraj Venjaramoodu, known for his captivating performance in Kaanekkaane, takes on the lead role of Binu Das, while Grace Antony portrays his sister Nishima. The roles of their parents are played by Sudheer Karamana and Vinaya Prasad. Additionally, Shyam Mohan, recognized for his work in Premalu, plays the character Sanju.

ED and other Christmas releases

Upon the release of ED, Suraj's performance received acclaim from critics, despite their criticism of the uneven writing. However, the film did not achieve significant success at the box office.

The film encountered significant competition from other holiday releases, including Aashiq Abu’s Rifle Club and Unni Mukundan’s Marco. It is important to highlight that Rifle Club, featuring actors such as Vijayaraghavan, Dileesh Pothan, Anurag Kashyap, Vani Viswanath, and Hanumankind, became available on OTT platforms within a month of its theatrical release. Following this, the action-oriented Marco was released a month later and is currently accessible for streaming on OTTplay Premium.

As of now, there has been no announcement regarding the OTT release of ED. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that Suraj Venjaramoodu’s film will attract viewers upon its digital launch.
