On Friday, the production team unveiled the first look poster featuring the film's female lead, coinciding with Valentine's Day. Bhagyashrii Borse has been cast in the role of the female lead in this period drama.

Bhagyashrii Borse’s first look unveiled from Kaantha

Kaantha is an anticipated Tamil film featuring actor Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. The film is both written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, known for his previous work on the docu-series The Hunt for Veerappan. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the production team unveiled the first-look poster of the film’s female lead, Bhagyashrii Borse. The poster depicts Bhagyashrii in a retro-style saree, seated and looking over her shoulder. This film will also mark the actress's debut in Tamil cinema.

In addition to his role as the lead actor, Dulquer is co-producing the film alongside Rana Daggubati, Prashanth Potluri, and Jon Varghese. Kaantha is set to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.

The film directed by Selvamani Selvaraj is a period drama set in 1950s Madras, focusing on the intricacies of human relationships and the significant societal transformations that occurred during this historical era. The release date for the film has not yet been disclosed.

Kaantha is another historical drama in which Dulquer Salmaan will take on a leading role. The actor has consistently achieved success in this genre, delivering remarkable performances in films such as Mahanati, Sita Ramam, and Lucky Baskhar.

In a different vein, Selvaraj Selvamani recently directed the docu-series The Hunt for Veerappan, currently available for streaming on Netflix. This crime series, comprising four episodes, focuses on the infamous dacoit and smuggler Veerappan, who was regarded as a terrorist.
