Dulquer Salmaan established himself as one of the most sought-after talents of Indian cinema with some notable films and performances. The pan-Indian star recently announced his upcoming Telugu project Aakasam Lo Oka Tara, on the special occasion of his birthday. However, Dulquer Salmaan's fans are disappointed, as there are no updates on the talented actor’s next outing in his home industry, Malayalam cinema. Reportedly, the actor might not announce his next Malayalam film, in the near future.

Dulquer Salmaan's next Malayalam film

If the reports are to be believed, Dulquer Salmaan has not finalised his next outing in Malayalam cinema, yet. The actor-producer, who is disappointed with the critical and commercial failure of his previous Malayalam outing King Of Kotha, is reportedly planning to be choosy with the projects he picks in his home industry. The grapevine suggests that Dulquer is in talks with some popular young filmmakers for his next outing in Malayalam. RDX fame filmmaker Nahas Hidhayath is almost finalised to direct the actor’s next Malayalam project.

However, Dulquer Salmaan has reportedly decided to not officially announce his next Malayalam outing, until the script is officially locked. The unexpected delays caused during the making of King Of Kotha, and the Soubin Shahir directorial Othiram Kadakam which has been put on the backburner after its official announcement, have prompted the popular star to make this major creative decision. Also, the actor is planning to focus on his committed other language projects, before making a grand comeback to Malayalam cinema. 

Dulquer Salmaan’s work front

The previous Malayalam outing of Dulquer Salmaan, the Abhilash Joshiy directorial King Of Kotha, is currently available for streaming on Sony LIV. The actor’s latest outing Kalki 2898 AD, the Prabhas-Nag Ashwin project, is currently running successfully at the theatres. The pan-Indian star, who made a cameo appearance in the film, is expected to reprise his much-loved character ‘Captain’ in the future installments in the Kalki Cinematic Universe as well. 

Dulquer Salmaan will be next seen in Lucky Baskhar, the upcoming period drama film directed by Venky Atluri. The much-awaited project is slated to hit the big screens on September 27, 2024. The actor’s other upcoming projects include Aakasam Lo Oka Tara, fantasy drama Kaantha, and the upcoming Guns And Gulaabs Season 2.
