Following the remarkable success of Love Today, actor and filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan took on a leading role in the 2025 Tamil film Dragon, directed by his friend Ashwath Marimuthu. The film premiered in theaters on February 21 and has been achieving notable success at the box office. It was previously reported that the film had surpassed Rs 50 crores in global collections, with the domestic earnings reaching Rs 40.50 crore after five days.

Dragon, produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Kalpathi S. Ganesh, and Kalpathi S. Suresh under the banner of AGS Entertainment, was also released in Telugu under the title Return of the Dragon. The narrative centers on a college student burdened with 48 arrears, who is now enjoying a prosperous life with a high salary and is on the verge of marriage. However, an unexpected situation compels him to return to college to resolve his academic backlogs.

In addition to Pradeep, the film features performances by KS Ravi Kumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Vj Siddhu, Harshath Khan, Anupama Parameshwaran, Kayadu Lohar, George Mariyan, Indhumathy Manigandan, Thenappan, among others. The musical score is composed by Leon James, while Niketh Bommireddy is responsible for cinematography, and Pradeep E Ragav oversees the editing process. The film Dragon has received predominantly favourable reviews from critics.

Netflix has acquired the streaming rights for the film following its theatrical run. Given the overwhelmingly positive response to Dragon's theatrical release, it may take some time before the film is available on OTT platforms.
