Following the success of Love Today, actor and filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan collaborated with his longtime friend and director Ashwath Marimuthu for the film Dragon. Released on January 21 (Friday), the film has been performing well at the box office. According to a report by Sacnilk, the film garnered Rs 6 crore on its opening day. It is anticipated that audience numbers will increase over the weekend, potentially leading to a rise in box office collections in the coming days.
On its opening Friday, Dragon experienced a strong occupancy rate, particularly among younger viewers attending theaters. With the weekend approaching, it is expected that family audiences will also come out to see the film.
The cast includes Anupama Parameswaran, Mysskin, Kayadu Lohar, Gautham Menon, VJ Siddhu, Harshanth Khan, KS Ravikumar, and others. Dragon was released concurrently with Dhanush's directorial venture, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam.

Leon James is responsible for the film's score, while Niketh Bommi has handled the cinematography. The editing has been done by Pradeep E Ragav. Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical rights to the film and will release it following its theatrical debut.
The narrative of Dragon centers on D Ragavan, an academic achiever in school who descends into a life of aimlessness during his college years due to a particular circumstance. His life takes a significant turn after his girlfriend ends their relationship post-college, primarily due to his lack of employment.
This film represents Ashwath's second directorial effort, following his previous work, Oh My Kadavule, which is currently available for streaming on ZEE5.
