Double Ismart is the sequel to the hit Puri Jagannadh film, Ismart Shankar. The film ended as a smash hit and gave respite to the careers of Ram Pothineni and Puri. After the debacle of Liger, Puri announced Double Ismart and roped in Sanjay Dutt to play the main villain.

Double Ismart is now streaming on Amazon Prime

Despite having financial issues, Double Ismart was made on a massive scale and was released on August 15, 2024. But sadly, the film flopped in a big way. But the makers were so clever that they sold the OTT rights to the film for a monstrous amount of just over Rs 40 crore.

We at OTTplay have already reported that Amazon Prime has bagged the rights and the special aspect is that without any prior announcement, they started Double Ismart on September 5, 2024. That means, the action drama is out on OTT within three weeks of its release. 

It looks like the makers locked a deal with Amazon to release early and make big money. Puri is in a deep mess now as he has given back-to-back flops with Liger and Double Ismart. Ever since the film flopped, he is nowhere to be seen. Ali played a key role and his comedy was trolled in a big way.

Some even called it cheap. Snaps of his looks and dialogues are being posted on social media and being trolled. Kavya Thapar played the female lead and she did well in her role. This film gave him a lot of exposure and she has bagged big films in Telugu.

But the one who is getting the most trolled is Ram Pothineni. Despite giving back-to-back flops, Ram joined hands with Puri, and the result is there for us all to see. Well, now that the film is out on OTT, we need to see how it performs in the days to come. The response as of now is not that great. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
