Here are three compelling reasons to ensure you do not overlook Vikrant's The Sabarmati Report.

The Sabarmati Report on OTT

Vikrant Massey's upcoming film, The Sabarmati Report, is set to premiere on ZEE5 on January 10. It will also be available for viewing with an OTTplay Premium subscription. In anticipation of the release, Vikrant has shared a video outlining three significant reasons why this film is essential.

There are three compelling reasons to watch this film. Firstly, it is centred around the tragic 2002 Godhra train burning incident, which resulted in the deaths of 90 devotees aboard the Sabarmati Express. This event triggered extensive communal riots throughout Gujarat. Those who were unable to see the film in theatres will have the opportunity to engage with the narrative on ZEE5.

The train accident resulted in the loss of numerous lives and continues to be a prominent subject of discussion, as well as one of the most significant cover-ups in the country.

Additionally, a journalist named Samar Kumar (portrayed by Vikrant Massey) is delving into the facts surrounding the incident.

In sharing the video, the actor wrote, "One tragedy, many lives lost, and a singular mission to reveal the untold narratives of Godhra. Watch #TheSabarmatiReport premiering tomorrow exclusively on #ZEE5!"

The Sabarmati Report reception

Following its theatrical debut in November of the previous year, audiences took to their X accounts to express their opinions regarding the film.

One user on X remarked, "The Sabarmati Report serves as a poignant reminder of the consequences of inaction. This film reveals the truth behind one of India's most harrowing tragedies. It is a cinematic call to awareness."

Another user stated, "The unfiltered intensity and bold narrative of The Sabarmati Report render it essential viewing. It confronts historical narratives, provokes contemplation, and pays tribute to the lives lost in Godhra."

Directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan under the auspices of Balaji Motion Pictures and Vikir Films, The Sabarmati Report also features performances by Sundip Ved, Sandeep Kumar, Rohit Ameriya, Al Arjun, Anjali Nadig, among others.
