What is Smartphone about?

Starring Hina Khan as Suman, Kunaal Roy Kapur as Chandan, and Akshay Oberoi as Vicky, the film, directed by Ankush Bhatt, focuses on the life of Suman, a village belle from Uttar Pradesh. The film starts with her wedding to Chandan, following which she settles in Mumbai. To help her adjust to the new city, Chandan gives Suman a smartphone. However, life is not a bed of roses for Suman.

Suman discovers that her husband, Chandan, is addicted to gambling. Tensions rise when Chandan uses Suman as a bet in a game. Will Sumna be able to safeguard herself from the evils in society? Watch this 19-minute-long film to learn more.

While sharing the trailer for the film on Instagram, Hina posted, “Smartphone trailer | When a woman using smartphone moulds herself in urban circumstances with unique ways, a common reality in an uncommon way.” The trailer and the film have Hina Khan in a desi avatar.
