Dheekshith Shetty’s 'Blink' Premieres in Marathi – Stream Now on OTT
14 days ago | 5 Views
The Kannada film Blink has been available on OTT for over a year, but that hasn’t hindered its creators from attempting to widen its audience reach throughout the country with dubbed versions. The film is currently streaming with Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Bengali audio options and as of April 25, 2025, the platform – Amazon Prime Video – will add Marathi as well.

Blink, helmed by newcomer Srinidhi Bengaluru and featuring Dia-fame Dheekshith Shetty in the lead role, faced a challenging beginning at the box office, as it struggled to secure screenings and even went without any for several days initially. It was a challenging endeavor for the team, despite receiving fairly positive reviews for the film that incorporated time travel into its storyline. The film ultimately reached the 50-day milestone and then transitioned to OTT.
The plot of Blink
What was intriguing about the experiment undertaken by the team was that the film also delved into the Oedipus Complex. Dheekshith portrayed Apurva, a young student residing in Bengaluru, who has been led to believe that his father deserted him and his mother many years prior and is presumed dead. However, he encounters a mysterious elderly man, Arivu, who informs him that his father may still be alive and thriving, and that the key to uncovering the truth lies in him traveling back in time and retracing his father’s steps.

What Apurva discovers in this endeavor has polarized audiences, with some appreciating the daring direction and others finding it hard to accept such a narrative in Kannada cinema. The film also featured Vajradheer Jain, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Chaithra J Achar, among others.
Dheekshith, who has been making strides in Telugu cinema and series (Meet Cute), has a few upcoming releases, including Girlfriend alongside Anjaniputhra fame Rashmika Mandanna, and will next appear in Bank of Bhagyalakshmi, which, for now, is his only other Kannada project. The actor will collaborate again with Srinidhi for yet another distinctive project, which involves a found footage storytelling technique. He has also revealed a new project with 6-5=2 director KS Ashok, which will also feature Pruthvi Ambaar.
