Director Ram, renowned for his impactful films such as Peranbu and Kattradhu Thamizh, is currently working on a new project titled Parandhu Po, featuring actor Shiva. This film is scheduled to be showcased at the ongoing International Festival of Rotterdam, which runs until February 9.

Described as a musical comedy, Parandhu Po is set to debut on one of India's leading OTT platforms. Disney+ Hotstar has secured the streaming rights for the film.

Director Ram, currently anticipating the release of his film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, is recognized for his methodical approach to filmmaking. Following the premiere of Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai at the International Festival of Rotterdam last year, his upcoming project will also be featured at the festival. Entitled Parandhu Po, the film features Shiva in the leading role.

Recently, Disney+ Hotstar announced that Parandhu Po will be available for streaming soon, although a specific release date has not yet been disclosed. The international title for Parandhu Po is Fly Away.

Parandhu Po plot and cast

The film centres on a determined schoolboy and his economically disadvantaged father as they embark on a road trip, seeking respite from the hectic city life. Throughout their journey, they encounter compassionate individuals, leading to a deeper understanding between them.

In addition to Shiva, the cast includes Grace Antony, Mitul Ryan M, Vijay Yesudad, Anjali, and Aju Varghese, among others. The film's technical team features Ekambaram N K as the director of photography and Mathi VS as the editor. Notably, Ram, who typically collaborates with composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, has chosen a different path this time, enlisting Santhosh Dhayanidhi for the musical score, while Yuvan has provided the background music.

Simultaneously, the film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, starring Nivin Pauly, Anjali, and Soori, is set to be released in March.
