SonyLIV has acquired the theatrical distribution rights and plans to launch the film on March 7. Rekhachithram is a crime thriller drama directed by Jofin T. Chacko, who adapted the screenplay from John Manthrikal, based on a narrative by Ramu Sunil. Featuring Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan in the principal roles, the film will premiere on SonyLIV for streaming on March 7, following its theatrical release. Additionally, the Malayalam film will be accessible in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

The narrative of the film unfolds in Malakkappara, Kerala. It centres on a police officer who investigates a suicide case, which subsequently leads him to the mysterious disappearance of a girl during the filming of director Bharathan's Kathodu Kathoram, released in 1985.

The film was met with a favourable response upon its release. According to an OTTplay review, "The creators of Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan have adeptly crafted a nearly flawless mystery thriller that intertwines the cinematic worlds of the 1980s and the present, featuring a compelling array of protagonists."

The film, produced by Kavya Film Company and Ann Mega Media, features a cast that includes Siddique, Indrans, Saikumar, and Jagadish, among others. An AI representation of Mammootty was developed for the film to integrate him into the cast of Kathodu Kathoram.

The cinematography for Rekhachithram was handled by Appu Prabhakar, while the editing was done by Shameer Muhammed. The musical score was composed by Mujeeb Majeed. Rekhachithram will be available for viewing on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium starting March 7.
