In an unexpected twist, Dhanush’s eagerly awaited directorial project, Idli Kadai, has decided to avoid the April 10 showdown with Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly. The actor-director shared the updated release date through a social media announcement, stating that Idli Kadai will now premiere on October 1, 2025. The film features Dhanush alongside Nithya Menen, reuniting after their touching performance in the 2022 success, Thiruchitrambalam. This will be Dhanush’s 52nd film as an actor and his fourth as a director, with music by the talented GV Prakash.

Idli Kadai is described as a family-friendly film, a shift from Dhanush’s recent action-heavy roles. The film’s poster suggests that Dhanush will portray Sivanesan, the proprietor of an eatery called Idli Kadai, which has piqued interest in the storyline. Reports indicate that Ashok Selvan will play a significant role, while Arun Vijay is rumored to be the antagonist.

On the other hand, Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly, which was originally planned for a Pongal release, has been moved to April 10, 2025. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, this action thriller showcases Ajith in a triple role, with Trisha as the leading lady.

Dhanush’s production company, Wunderbar Films, is collaborating with Dawn Pictures on Idli Kadai, marking Dawn’s first foray into film production. Fans are also excited about Dhanush’s upcoming pan-Indian Telugu film, Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula, featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna, and Jim Sarbh. This socio-drama will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, with music by Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by Niketh Bommi.

With Idli Kadai set for an October release and Kubera on the way, Dhanush continues to engage audiences with his varied cinematic endeavors.
