Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar announced the confirmation of Dhadak 2 in May 2024. He provided the first look at the romantic drama featuring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi on his official Instagram account. The film was originally slated for release on November 22, 2024, but has since been postponed to February 21, 2025. Recent updates indicate that the sequel to Dhadak has experienced another delay, with its new expected release date now set for Holi 2025.

Is Dhadak 2 set to premiere on Holi 2025?

As reported, the release of Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan's Kesari Chapter 2, which was initially planned for Holi 2025, has been postponed. This film is now anticipated to debut in April of this year. Conversely, it is expected that Triptii and Siddhant's Dhadak 2 will likely be released in theatres on March 14.

Dhadak 2, similar to Kesari Chapter 2, is being produced by Dharma Productions. Following the postponement of the Akshay Kumar-led film, the production team opted to retain the highly sought-after release date and is now preparing to launch Dhadak 2 during the Festival of Colours. An official announcement is anticipated shortly, according to a source from the entertainment portal.

The source further indicated that two mid-sized films can be accommodated for a festive release such as Holi. "Nevertheless, this year, Holi coincides with the sacred month of Ramadan. Salman Khan’s large-scale action film Sikandar is slated for release two weeks after Holi, on Eid," the source elaborated. This timing is also a contributing factor to the expectation of fewer releases in March.

Karan Johar announces Dhadak 2

On May 24 of the previous year, Karan Johar made an official announcement regarding Dhadak 2 via social media. In his post, the filmmaker and producer provided a preview of the film, stating: "Presenting Dhadak 2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi & Triptii Dimri. Directed by Shazia Iqbal (sic)."
