Deva box office collection on day four: The debut Hindi film of Malayalam director Rosshan Andrrews, titled Deva, features Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde in the principal roles and was released in theatres on January 31. As reported by Sacnilk, the film experienced a decline in its box office collections, accumulating approximately ₹21.36 crore net in India.

The website indicates that the film generated approximately ₹2.21 crore net in India, bringing its cumulative earnings to ₹21.36 crore net. It earned ₹5.5 crore on its opening day, followed by a notable increase over the weekend, with collections of ₹6.4 crore on Saturday and ₹7.25 crore on Sunday. On Monday, the film recorded an overall occupancy rate of 7.53%. The production company, Roy Kapur Films, announced via social media that the film earned ₹8.30 crore in India and ₹3.45 crore internationally, resulting in a total gross of ₹11.75 crore for day three and an overall gross of ₹34.01 crore.

About Deva

Before the film's release, Shahid spoke to the media regarding the comparisons drawn between his character Deva and his previous role in the successful film Kabir Singh. He remarked, “While Deva embodies an aggressive persona, he is distinctly his character; there is no resemblance to Kabir Singh. Furthermore, Deva does not mirror any other character… Up until Kabir Singh, audiences have inquired whether he resembles Tommy Singh from Udta Punjab.” The film garnered mixed reviews, yet Shahid's performance received acclaim.

Deva is an adaptation of the 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, which was also directed by Rosshan and featured Prithviraj Sukumaran. The narrative, especially the climax, has been modified to introduce a fresh perspective. In this film, Shahid portrays ACP Dev Ambre, a man who suffers from memory loss while investigating the murder of his best friend. Pooja plays his love interest, a reporter named Diya Sathaye, with Pavail Gulati and Kubbra Sait also taking on significant roles.
