Deva box office collection on day three: The debut Hindi film Deva, directed by Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews and featuring Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde, premiered in theaters on January 31. As reported by Sacnilk, the film has garnered approximately ₹18.7 crore net in India over its first three days.

The website indicates that the film generated approximately ₹6.8 crore net on its first Sunday, resulting in a cumulative total of ₹18.7 crore net in India. On its opening day, the film earned ₹5.5 crore net, followed by a 16.36% increase in collections on Saturday, which amounted to ₹6.4 crore. The occupancy rates were recorded at 6.34% for the morning show, 16.32% for the afternoon show, and 22.08% for the evening show. These figures are relatively modest when compared to Shahid's previous film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, but it remains to be seen how much revenue will be generated by the end of the first week.

About Deva

Deva is a reimagining of Roshan’s 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran in the principal role. The director made adjustments to the narrative, particularly modifying a significant aspect of the climax. Shahid portrays ACP Dev Ambre, a character who suffers from memory loss while investigating the murder of his closest friend. Pooja plays his love interest, a journalist named Diya Sathaye. Additionally, Pavail Gulati and Kubbra Sait have prominent roles in the film.

While Shahid's performance has garnered acclaim, the film has received a range of reviews from both critics and audiences. In a press conference before the film's release, the actor addressed the comparisons drawn between Deva and Kabir Singh, stating, “It’s an aggressive character, but Deva is very much its entity; there is no Kabir Singh in it. Deva does not resemble any other character… Until Kabir Singh, people would ask if he was similar to Tommy Singh from Udta Punjab.”
