Shakib Khan, Mimi Chakraborty, Chanchal Chowdhury-starrer Toofan was released in India on July 5. After a mammoth success in Bangladesh, India, especially Bengal, saw a lukewarm box office report on the film. The film was released during Eid. Besides Bangladesh, the film saw an excellent response among the Bengali community in Australia and Canada.

Before the release in India, director Raihan Rafi came to India. In an interview, he claimed that after the success of Toofan, Bengali superstars Jeet and Dev are willing to collaborate with him. “After seeing the success of Toofan, Dev, and Jeet both proposed to work with me. I have not confirmed anything yet,” he said. Talking about working with Mimi, he said that working with Mimi was nice. He also said that he would like to collaborate more with India. “Jeetda is a superstar. I like many other actors and actresses in Tollywood. However, I can’t say more,” he said.

There has been no reaction from Jeet as of now. Dev, meanwhile, cleared the air on his desire to work with Raihan Rafi. He shared a snippet from the interview and clarified, “Not true… But still wish him all the best.”

Meanwhile, Dev has started working on his new film – a traditional collaboration with Avijit Sen and Atanu Raychaudhury. Sharing a photo in his Insta story, he wrote, “Getting ready for our next.” The actor, director, and producer gave us three consecutive hits – Tonic, Projapati, and Pradhan. This time, their team is supposed to travel to the UK in August to shoot for their new film.
