Director Ajay Gnanamuthu, recognized for his work on the Tamil horror thriller film franchise Demonte Colony, has commenced production on the third installment. He shared this update via social media. Featuring Arulnithi in the leading role, the Demonte Colony series is anticipated to consist of four parts.

Demonte Colony 3 begins: Ajay Gnanamuthu gives update

After the success of the 2015 Tamil horror thriller film Demonte Colony, director Ajay Gnanamuthu launched the sequel, Demonte Colony II: Vengeance of the Unholy, in 2024. The director has now provided an update regarding the development of a third installment, which is currently underway. Sharing a photo with his team from an international location, Ajay Gnanamuthu has officially confirmed the production of the third part.

The director has also identified actors Arulnithi, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Meenakshi Govindharajan, and Muthukumar as part of the cast. Sam CS will be responsible for composing the music for the third installment.

Although horror films are relatively rare in Tamil cinema, Ajay Gnanamuthu previously informed OTTplay that the film series will consist of four installments. He mentioned that characters from earlier films will return. "In contrast to The Conjuring series, where each installment features a distinct storyline, our characters remain consistent. It resembles the Harry Potter series, where the world evolves. There will be a singular conflict, but the characters' journeys will vary."

Where to watch Demonte Colony 1 and 2 on OTT?

Although the release date for Demonte Colony 3 has not been announced, both previous installments are available for streaming on OTTplay Premium. Ajay Gnanamuthu directed both films, featuring Arulnithi in the leading role.

The initial installment centers on four friends who venture into a haunted mansion located in the Demonte Colony area to retrieve a cursed necklace, which subsequently brings chaos into their lives. The sequel continues the story, focusing on the unfortunate experiences of Debbie and Raghunanthan as they confront the malevolent spirits haunting Demonte Colony.
