Thandel is gearing up for a big screen debut on February 7, 2025. The film stars Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya in the main roles, with Chandoo Mondeti at the helm as director.

Thandel's details about its release date on OTT

Netflix has snagged the digital rights for the film for a whopping amount, as we previously shared at OTTplay. It's rumored that they shelled out nearly ₹60 crore for it.

In the latest chatter among film enthusiasts, it seems Thandel won’t hit OTT platforms until it wraps up 50 days in theaters. This arrangement was made by producer Allu Aravind, who’s pretty optimistic about how the film will do.

That said, there are whispers that Netflix is chatting with the filmmakers about possibly releasing it early on OTT if the film doesn’t perform well at the box office. We’ll know more once Thandel premieres on February 7, 2025.

The OTT deal for Game Changer got switched up right at the last moment

Producer Dil Raju had a similar arrangement with Prime Video for Game Changer, which stipulated that the film would hit OTT platforms at least 56 days after its theatrical debut. But since Game Changer flopped at the box office, they changed the terms, and now Ram Charan's film will stream starting February 7, 2025, just shy of a month after it hits theaters. They're taking a similar route with Thandel, which is projected to land on OTT around the third week of March 2025.

Sai Pallavi takes on the female lead, and it looks like her character is going to be key to the plot. Naga Chaitanya plays a fisherman who ends up stuck in Pakistani waters and gets arrested. This romantic drama is inspired by a real couple from Vizag, whose tale of being apart and then coming back together made headlines a few years back.

The music is by DSP, and Bunny Vas is producing the film. Keep an eye out for more updates on this exciting project!
