If there is one thing that Spider-Man: No Way Home taught us, it has to be the fact that anything can happen with the doors of the Multiverse being wide open, and there is no limit to imagination because Doctor Strange has none. The presence of Doctor Strange or at least his ring, which enables the portals in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, has left us all curious to know what exactly this means for the Multiverse that is about to only bloom going forward. The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer is now a month away from official release after being in production—and production hell before that—for years, and that is an achievement for Shawn Levy and Reynolds. But what is the future of this franchise? Levy wants to have Spidey in it.

Shawn Levy's Ambition

Yes, you read that right. With X-Men now entering the MCU in full swing and a whole lot of storylines making it to Deadpool & Wolverine, one would only be curious to know if the future has the Merc with a Mouth unite with other mutants or X-Men to make future films. It turns out Total Film even ended up asking the question to Shawn Levy, the director of the franchise. While we thought he would name a mutant, an X-Men, or maybe another character from the Deadpool universe, he threw a big ball of surprise. He named Spider-Man, and we are not prepared for this. Read on to know everything you should about the same.

Shawn Levy has now sown a seed of watching Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man together on the big screen someday, and we will never be prepared for the fan frenzy that movie will follow. Talking about his reason behind wanting Deadpool to join hands with Spider-Man, Levy said, "The thing about Deadpool is I think he makes everything more interesting because of his audacity. But, boy, I'd sure love to see Deadpool and Spidey. That's a movie I'd love to make. I feel like Tom Holland would run circles around everyone else."

Deadpool & Spider-Man Comics

Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy’s ambition to bring Deadpool and Spider-Man together is not really a tall order because there is a comic that features a Peter Parker and Wade Wilson bromance. The team-up comic had Spider-Man join hands with Deadpool in 2016 and ran for 52 issues till 2019. The comics included hijinks and a roster of superstar creators, which included Deadpool scribe Joe Kelly and Hulk artist Ed McGuinness.

About Deadpool & Wolverine

Starring Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in the lead, Deadpool & Wolverine (aka Deadpool 3) has been one of the most anticipated movies ever since it was announced. The trailers of the film have hinted at a whole lot, and the world is excited to see what unfolds in it. We have so far learned that the TVA kidnaps Wade Wilson and wants him to bring order to the multiverse. There have been many rumors around the storyline, and we can only confirm them once the film is released. The movie is set to hit the big screen on July 26, 2024.

However, the last time Spider-Man made his way into live-action, he created a monstrous response with No Way Home. There have been plans for Spider-Man 4, and we have been telling you about those too. You can watch Spider-Man: No Way Home on SonyLIV with your OTTplay Premium subscription.
