The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has experienced a rollercoaster ride over the past year, undergoing a significant reshuffle triggered by a few major events. Firstly, the box office struggles led to a complete overhaul of their content plan. Secondly, the unfortunate Jonathan Majors incident, where the actor was found guilty of assault charges and subsequently fired from his role as Kang the Conqueror, added to the turmoil. This created a double dilemma for the studio, which now had to shift away from Kang while simultaneously shaping a new big bad for the Multiverse Saga, all while adhering to the existing storyline and announced projects.

At the center of this chaos was Deadpool & Wolverine, a film being developed amidst all the upheaval. Now, an alleged original plot reveals what the movie might have looked like if things had continued as initially planned.

Deadpool & Wolverine's Original Plot Leaked

For context, Deadpool & Wolverine began filming in July, just as the Jonathan Majors controversy was still fresh. The studio, which was busy constructing the multiverse storyline, had to change the plot of the movie, which was originally intended to tie into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The film was also supposed to bring back Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. However, with Kang out of the picture, the plan was scrapped, as RDJ was now in contention to play Doctor Doom instead. Here’s what we know about the original concept.

According to a scoop from My Time To Shine H, the original plot of Deadpool & Wolverine would have started slightly differently, with the TVA (Time Variance Authority) arresting Wade Wilson rather than recruiting him. "The movie was supposed to start with the TVA arresting Wade for messing with Cable's time machine. While he's in their prison, he overhears that the TVA is looking to recruit Anchor Beings from across the multiverse to create an army to fight the Kang, and they were supposed to be searching for a version of Logan. Wade decides to escape and find that Ultimate Logan before they do, bringing him to his world to be his best friend forever since the one from his world is now dead."

The rest of the plot is quite similar to what we got in Deadpool & Wolverine. The two travel through the multiverse, and there’s a clear explanation for why Wade meets Happy Hogan at Avengers Tower. They then end up in the Void, and the storyline continues as expected. However, the climax and post-credits scene were originally different. The climax was supposed to feature Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, badmouthing Cassandra Nova, while the post-credits scene was meant to show the return of Tony Stark.

"Johnny Storm talking shit about Cassandra Nova was the original ending," the source added, "while the original post-credits scene was supposed to be Deadpool returning to Avengers Tower and finally getting to meet Tony Stark, who rejects him." This would have laid the groundwork for the war between the Council of Kangs and the superheroes.

However, Deadpool & Wolverine has now taken a different direction, and Robert Downey Jr. has returned as Doctor Doom. Stay tuned to Mobile Masala for more updates on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
