It is no less than a cinematic event today because the fanbase that is spread across the globe is all set to buy tickets and take their seats to witness a movie they have waited for and heard about for half a decade. Deadpool & Wolverine is a historic event in the realm of superhero movies because it marks the transition of an entire franchise from one studio to another. It signifies the strong establishment of mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the debut of two massive talents and big superheroes, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who now reprise their mutant roles for the MCU after the Fox acquisition. There is so much riding on the back of this one movie that it paves the way for the Multiverse Saga's future in the MCU. 

Deadpool & Wolverine, on the surface, is a story of two men finding their purpose in the grand scheme of the multiverse—one at the risk of losing everything he loves and the other living in the regret of his wrongdoings. Remember, ‘This Wolverine destroyed his entire world’? Well, that forms the basis of Logan’s storyline in the movie. If you haven't seen the film yet, I will be generous enough to give you a SPOILER AHEAD disclaimer and advise you to go back because I had the privilege of early access. So, Deadpool & Wolverine has the two superheroes scaling timelines and Earths till the very end of time, which we are finally calling The Void.

In the process, they meet the villains, Paradox and Cassandra Nova. The climax of Deadpool & Wolverine is quite winning and simple but it indeed has a lot hidden. Remember the rumours that said the movie ties directly to Avengers: Secret Wars and the future of X-Men in the MCU? We will talk about the many cameos in a separate report. Let's first dissect the ending of the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer.

Deadpool & Wolverine Ending Explained:

What Happens With Deadpool And Wolverine?

The climax of Deadpool & Wolverine is about the two superheroes doing everything they can to stop Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) from using the Time Ripper. Created by Paradox without the TVA heads knowing, they wanted to rip off all the timelines and become one superpower, making The Void the only existing world. 

We see an entire league of Deadpools enter Earth 10005, where Paradox has created the Time Ripper. The only way to stop Nova is by merging the two points, but whoever decides to do so will be atomized in the process. We see Deadpool tricking his way into the room, as he wants Logan to live. But just when the process is about to rip Wade apart, Logan joins hands and they survive the blast that ends Nova’s attempt to destroy the timelines. We are told they were strong enough together to withstand the energy.

Does Cassandra Nova Survive?

Cassandra Nova is the twin sister of Charles Xavier, aka Professor X. She has insane powers and lives in the skeleton of a gigantic Ant-Man from some timeline we are never told about. When she meets Deadpool and Wolverine, she is made aware of the fact that Paradox was actually going against her while she always thought he was with her. She confronts Paradox and takes revenge on the Time Ripper he has been creating. 

She decides to destroy all the timelines until the only place left is The Void, and she becomes the most powerful being in it. Just when she is about to complete the destruction, Deadpool and Wolverine destroy the Time Ripper, which ends up destroying her. We see her getting atomized. But that doesn't mean the end of the character for sure. There will be another variant of her that will come back at some point.

But What About The Fox Universe?

To give you a simpler idea, the 20th Century Fox Universe exists on Earth 10005. Everyone from the X-Men to the mutants to The Fantastic Four and Deadpool exists here. The rumours all this time said that Deadpool & Wolverine would destroy the Fox Universe to give the characters from this world a new life. But contrary to that, Deadpool & Wolverine doesn't destroy the Fox Timeline but sets up the entire movie on the plot about saving it. 

In the end of the movie, we see the timeline being saved and both Deadpool and Wolverine becoming the Anchor Beings for it. So the Fox Universe is still alive and will have characters and actors enter the MCU in the future. We have already seen Jennifer Garner, Dafne Keen, Wesley Snipes, and Chris Evans reprise their parts from the Fox timeline. We have a future, fam!

Does It Link To Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars?

Contrary to the rumours that the movie links to Avengers 5 and Secret Wars in a very big way, there are hidden details in Deadpool & Wolverine that connect it to the two Avengers movies. In the end, Hunter B-15 (from Loki) has to intervene and arrest Paradox for doing illegal things. When she looks at Wade and Logan, she sees allies in them that can save the day for her. Secret Wars, in a way, will merge timelines, space, and even Earths as the movie is set to bring back the entire MCU and new entrants together. In this case, the two superheroes who once brought order to the world will be useful for the TVA, which is solely responsible for keeping timelines intact.
