Actor Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency was finally released in theatres last week after experiencing multiple delays. This biographical drama features Kangana Ranaut in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a project she also directed and co-produced. According to the most recent box office report from Sacnilk.com, Emergency has been facing challenges in gaining traction during the weekdays, having accumulated a total of ₹ 12 crore to date.

The report indicates that on its fifth day of release, which is the first Tuesday, Emergency has garnered ₹ 1.00 crore, marking its lowest single-day collection to date. The total earnings of the film currently amount to ₹ 12.40 crore.
Emergency experienced a satisfactory opening day, collecting ₹ 2.5 crore. The film's second day saw an increase, with collections reaching ₹ 3.6 crore, followed by ₹ 4.25 crore on the third day. However, there was a significant decline on the fourth day, with collections dropping to ₹ 1.05 crore.

Kangana recently utilized her social media platform to express gratitude to the audience for their reactions to her film. The actress shared her sentiments regarding the film's inability to release in Punjab, which is a result of widespread protests led by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and various Sikh organizations, with numerous politicians advocating for a ban.
"However, there is still some pain in my heart. Punjab. It has been said within the industry that my films achieve the best performance in Punjab. Yet today, my film is not even permitted to be released there," she remarked.
The film delves into the political upheaval and societal consequences of the emergency period, featuring Kangana in the role of Indira Gandhi. The cast also includes Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, and the late Satish Kaushik.
