This week, the biggest buzz in Bollywood revolves around the release of Sikandar, the much-anticipated film starring Salman Khan that was expected to be the top blockbuster of 2025. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna and comes with a hefty budget, making it one of the priciest Hindi films ever made.

However, after its debut on March 30, 2025, Sikandar caught everyone off guard—not in a positive way. The film's box office performance has been disappointing, and to add to the woes, advance ticket sales have been lackluster. Now, all eyes are on how the film performs on Day 3 to see if it can gain some traction.

Sikandar Box Office Forecast – Day 3

On its debut, Sikandar raked in ₹26 crore, then added ₹29 crore on its second day, totaling ₹55 crore in just 48 hours. While these numbers are quite good for an average film, they fall short for a Salman Khan blockbuster of this magnitude, reflecting a less-than-stellar performance.

Experts in the industry predict that Sikandar could make around ₹15-20 crore on its third day, indicating a decline in ticket sales. Although the film is likely to surpass ₹70 crore by the end of Day 3, it will need positive word-of-mouth and increased buzz to draw in more viewers to the cinemas.

Compounding the worry is the comparison made between the buzz around Sikandar and that of Tiger 3 (2023). Many thought Sikandar would match Tiger 3's success, but the outcome has been quite the opposite. While the Katrina Kaif film raked in ₹53 crore on its first day, Sikandar has come up nearly 50% short of that figure.

The movie centers around Sanjay Rajkot (played by Salman Khan), the ruler of Rajkot who possesses a quarter of India's gold. He dedicates his life to helping others, with his wife Saishri (Rashmika Mandanna) being his unwavering support. She stands by him through thick and thin, making sure his good intentions are never derailed.

Things take a turn when Sanjay crosses paths with the entitled son of a Mumbai politician, inadvertently bringing trouble into his life. The politician (Sathyaraj) is hell-bent on taking him down—Sikandar, also known as Raja Sahab. In the midst of the turmoil, tragedy strikes as Saishri loses her life, and her organs are donated throughout Mumbai. Now, Sanjay has to safeguard the organ recipients, who find themselves caught in this perilous situation.

Sikandar boasts a talented cast, including Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal, and Anjani Dhawan. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film hit theaters on March 30, 2025.

Is Sikandar going to bounce back at the box office?

Sikandar has a big budget and high hopes, but there's still a chance for it to gain momentum at the box office. That said, the decline in earnings on Day 3 indicates that better marketing and favorable audience feedback will be crucial for its success in the long run.
