Sky Force, an action drama featuring Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, premiered in theaters this past Friday, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend. As reported by Sacnilk, the film, which stars prominent actors Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur, achieved a remarkable gross of over ₹10 crore net on its opening day in India.
Sky Force: First day occupancy and box office details
The website indicates that Sky Force earned approximately ₹11.25 crore net on its first day in India. The occupancy rates for the 2D version of the film were recorded at 10.26% in the morning, 14.12% in the afternoon, and 22.76% in the evening. The total occupancy rate for the IMAX 2D versions stood at 20.32%.
The film Sky Force draws inspiration from the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air battle, during which India launched an attack on Pakistan's Sargodha airfield. It was produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios, along with Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik of Maddock Films. The official announcement and commencement of production occurred in 2023, with the completion of filming expected by 2024.

Veer Pahariya, making his debut in this film, expressed to ANI that he perceives it as a deeply personal story that resonates with many. He emphasized that the narrative revolves around family, with themes of brotherhood, loyalty, and friendship at its core. He believes this film carries significant educational value and encourages everyone to watch it. His portrayal of the late Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya is a serious one, as he noted.
In a conversation with HT City regarding his involvement in patriotic films, Akshay Kumar expressed his gratitude for the chance to embody various characters. He mentioned having portrayed figures such as Krishna and Shiva, attributing this opportunity to divine favor. He questioned the rationale behind declining such a remarkable chance simply because some individuals inquire, "Why do you make patriotic films?" He firmly responded, "Why shouldn't I?"
