The biggest question surrounding one of the most anticipated shows set to release in 2025 is how it connects to the first three seasons, which were released on a completely different platform and under entirely different leadership. We are indeed talking about Daredevil: Born Again, a show that will bring the Man Without Fear into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a full-fledged way. What is even more exciting is the studio's confirmation that everything that happened in the three Netflix seasons is canon. This means the Disney+ show will take place after the events of the third season of the Netflix show and then blend it into the MCU. However, this announcement has also led to some confusion. Actor Charlie Cox has now partially resolved this by revealing when the show is set and how much of a leap it takes.

Daredevil: Born Again Timeline Explained

Charlie Cox was in conversation with Empire, where he discussed the approach to Daredevil: Born Again. The actor revealed that the creators initially considered reinventing the series entirely, but it ultimately became a continuation. "There was talk early on about reinventing the whole thing, to see if Matt was a slightly different person," Cox told the magazine. "But it ended up more of a continuation. A lot of the history follows. The relationships and dynamics set up in the previous seasons still exist."

Further in the conversation, Cox confirmed where the show begins, stating that it is set a few years after the events of Daredevil Season 3 (Netflix). “A few years have passed. At that time, Matt, Foggy, and Karen had found a pretty good rhythm. Matt’s made peace with his role as both lawyer and vigilante. Then, of course, shit hits the fan."

Marvel Studios Wants a Tom Holland Cameo

According to the latest update from Cosmic Circus, Marvel bosses are now considering a Tom Holland cameo as Spider-Man in Daredevil: Born Again. The studio reportedly wants the web-slinging superhero to appear in the show to make it a more captivating affair. However, this rumor seems like a tall order, considering the reshoots have already wrapped up. With over four months left before the release, there is still a chance the creators might take that plunge.

An earlier scoop from My Time To Shine Hello suggested Wilson Fisk will deliver a speech after being elected Mayor of New York. In the speech, he encourages citizens to move past relying on heroes who "dress as a spider, a devil, or a psycho vigilante with a skull symbol" to save them. This was rumored to be the only Spider-Man reference in the show, but with new developments, this stands doubtful.

Brad Winderbaum, discussing the show, explained how viewers should imagine Daredevil: Born Again in a New York as intricate, problematic, and perilous as the world of Game of Thrones. He emphasized the chaotic struggle for control. "Imagine if New York City was as intricate and problematic and scary as the world of Game of Thrones," Winderbaum told ComicBook. "All these forces vying for control, and it can be really hopeful at times, and really violent at times, and dark—but also there's light at the end of the tunnel if you could just fight for it."

Daredevil: Born Again is set to hit Disney+ on March 4, 2025.
